"Observers are necessary for the universe to exist." – John Wheeler (1911-2008), theoretical physicist, member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
I explore the concepts of truth, reality, and selfhood through the allegory of Plato's Cave, reinterpreted through the lens of metamodernism and the ancient wisdoms of Tibet from the perspective of solipsism (the philosophical notion that one's own mind is the only reality, constantly accessible for intervention).
The empty space and blurred forms symbolize “rigpa”—emptiness and clarity—where consciousness realises its true nature. The subject, as a reflection of the spiritual journey toward mindfulness, and the lines resembling digital streams, highlight the illusory nature of perception in the modern world, where reality is distorted by information.
This idea resonates with the concept of Go, in which each move represents a step toward truth, reflecting the strategy of transcending false understandings and approaching the realisation of the true nature of reality. The limitations of the black-and-white background, strict geometric forms, and attachment to achieving results are overcome through the understanding of the unified nature of subject and object.
I create in mixed media, as it allows me to express my thoughts through various materials, drawing inspiration from Suprematism and the avant-garde. I do not depict nature or objects; instead, I represent the space-emptiness in which they exist. This approach encourages viewers to feel that connection within themselves and to initiate a dialogue with their inner infinite being. My works help adapt contemporary approaches to understand traditional concepts. Only through experiencing the emptiness of existence and our thoughts can we come closer to the truth!
